Interact Theatre Company To Celebrate
"Twenty Years of Song and Story"
at October 21 Gala Fundraiser
To mark its 20th anniversary, Interact Theatre Company will present a gala fundraiser and special performance -- Interacts First Twenty Years: Our Tale in Song & Story -- on Thursday, October 21 at 7:30 pm. Long-time company member and actor John Rubinstein will host the event at the NoHo Arts Center, 11136 Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood
Since its inception in 1990, Interact Theatre Company has become a fixture in the Los Angeles theatre community. Starting with its full company production of Dylan Thomas Under Milk Wood in 1993, the company has received a total of 78 awards and 150nominations for Outstanding and/or Distinguished Achievement in Theatre.
"Its a thrill to be able to celebrate this important milestone for our company," says
company president Amanda Troop. "Weve got a great show planned that will involve as many current Interact members as possible. We also expect to bring in some special guest artists who have been friends of the company since its founding."
After a pre–show reception and silent auction, the program will feature a collection of theatrical snippets from Interacts most critically-acclaimed productions over the years, including Into the Woods, Counsellor-At-Law, Urinetown, Under Milk Wood, Death of a
Salesman and many more.
Proceeds from the evening will support the companys 20th season of productions including the Pultizer Prize-winning play, State of the Union, which opens this Friday, September 24 and runs through October 31.
Tickets for the gala fundraiser are $100 and can be purchased via the Interact website or by phone at 877-369-9112. VIP Tickets (including priority seating and lobby and program recognition) are available for $200. For more information, visit www.interactla.org
