Virginia Newcomb
Virginia Newcomb’s recent performance in Audrey Cefaly’s Alabaster at the Fountain Theatre was honored with Stage Raw’s 2026 Leading Performance Award. Virginia is known for her acclaimed work in films like A24’s The Death of Dick Long from Daniel Scheinert and Jim Cummings’ The Beta Test. Her New York debut came in Jay Scheib's live-cinema production of Chekhov's Platonov which streamed to Times Square and BAM Rose Cinemas, originating at La Jolla Playhouse’s WOW Festival. Virginia took a similarly immersive approach as creator of Cucalorus Festival's commissioned Blue Velvet installation, Bus To Lumberton. She recently performed in Julian Rosefeldt’s epic video installation, Euphoria, with Cate Blanchett & Giancarlo Esposito for Park Ave Armory NYC. Traditional theatre credits include On The Spectrum and A House Not Meant To Stand (The Fountain Theatre), The Foreigner (Fort Salem NY), Sweet Bird of Youth and No Exit (Marilyn Monroe Theatre), This Property Is Condemned (The Globe Playhouse), and most recently with the episodic theatre outfit, Flay’s Anatomy (Atlanta Fringe and Limelight Theatre). Virginia’s roles span popular shows like The Walking Dead, Law & Order, The Office, and most recently 911: Nashville. A native Alabamian, much of her work explores the deeper nuance in nontraditional southern female narratives. Among her projects in development, Virginia was recently awarded a Film Impact Georgia grant for her screenplay, Stolen Daffodils.
